The concealed sprinkler head is specifically designed for installations where the sprinkler is hidden from view, typically within a ceiling or wall. This design not only helps maintain the aesthetic appearance of the space by allowing the surrounding decor to remain uninterrupted but also provides an effective means of fire protection. When activated by heat, a concealed sprinkler typically has a cover plate that falls away, exposing the sprinkler head to release water and suppress a fire.

In contrast, pendant and upright sprinklers are visible installations. Pendant sprinklers hang down from the ceiling, while upright sprinklers point upwards from pipes. Both are effective in their applications but do not provide the same level of concealment. Exposed sprinklers are fully visible and are often used in industrial or other practical settings where aesthetics are not a primary concern. Therefore, the concealed sprinkler is the type that best fits the description of being primarily for concealed installations, effectively hiding the sprinkler from view.
